About BALTEXPO

GENERAL INFORMATION

BALTEXPO International Exhibition and Conferences is the biggest and the oldest event in Poland among economic events related to broadly understood maritime economy: shipbuilding industry and its related parties, ports and logistics associated to the use of the maritime and inland waterways transportation and the security of coasts, ports and navigation.

The concept of the BALTEXPO Exhibition has been constantly improved, elaborated and adapted in its contents to the global trends, which makes it one of the leading events in the industry for over 30 years. It meets the expectations of the stakeholders seeking development of maritime sectors of economy and it constitutes a communication platform for representatives of various Polish and foreign environments: government and self-government authorities, maritime administration, enterprises, sector organisations, employers and their social partners, scientific and research institutes, as well as the media.

Every edition of BALTEXPO is accompanied with a rich programme of conferences related to the topic of the exhibition and addressing the most significant and current questions related to the development of maritime industries in Poland, Europe and globally from economic, social, political and technological angles. Every time, the programme of conferences, debates and seminars is prepared in close cooperation with outstanding specialists from the maritime sector who represent the central and local governments, the industry and research and development institutes.

A series of initiatives is held in parallel to BALTEXPO as well, which aim at intensifying and facilitating business relations between Polish and foreign entities operating in the maritime economy sector. They mostly consist of networking meetings preceding BALTEXPO, held in Poland and abroad, as well as seminars, workshops, official visits and foreign missions.

Traditionally, the opening of every edition of the BALTEXPO International Maritime Exhibition and Conferences is preceded by the deliberations of the Chapter of the ‘Golden Anchor’ Exhibition Award. The ‘Golden Anchor’ is awarded in two categories – for a product and for a service which deserve a special recognition for their innovativeness and technological advancement. Since 2011, the Chapter grants a special award for the Personality of the Year of the Maritime Economy, in recognition of special achievements and contribution to the development of the entire industry and its image in Poland and abroad.

For many years, BALTEXPO has showcased Polish maritime economy providing the setting for the Polish and foreign guests to get a hands-on insight in the achievements and potential of the Polish industry, clusters and research and development institutes.

BALTEXPO gathers approx. 300 companies and over 4000 visitors from 14 countries (2015), with the exhibition space up to 12.000 sq. m.
